Pinterest board to PDF: one file for the whole board
Export a whole Pinterest board as one printable PDF with Unpinned. A4 or Letter, 1 to 9 pins per page, sections on their own pages. Ready for a wall or a site visit.
Downloading · Workflow
Pinterest has no way to export a board as a PDF. Unpinned turns the whole board into a PDF: open the board, pick .pdf, choose the paper and how many pins go on a page, download. PDF export is part of Unpinned Pro.
Why a board on paper
PDF export came from a user. She was renovating her home, had collected a lot of images for inspiration, and wanted them in front of her on paper, not on a screen. So we built it.
A printed board works in places a browser tab does not. On a wall, where the whole direction is visible at once. Cut up into a collage. On the table at a meeting with a builder, an architect or a client who does not use Pinterest. Anything you are planning, from a kitchen to a shop fit-out, is easier to argue about when everyone can point at the same sheet.
How to export a Pinterest board to PDF
- Open the board on Pinterest in Chrome, Firefox or Edge.
- Click Unpinned in the bottom-right corner of the page. It stays there as you scroll.
- Switch the format from
.zipto.pdf. - Choose A4 or Letter, and the number of pins per page.
- Download.
The PDF goes into your browser's download folder, named after the board. If you have not installed Unpinned yet, the Pinterest board downloader page has the links for each browser.
Pins per page
You can put 1, 2, 4, 6 or 9 pins on a page.
One pin per page gives every image the full sheet. That suits a short board of key references you want to see at size. Nine per page is a contact sheet: the whole board on few pages, every pin small, good for seeing the direction at a glance. Two, four and six sit in between.
Pins are scaled to fit their cell. Nothing is cropped, so a tall pin stays tall and leaves white space either side.
What goes into the PDF
Every image pin, from the full-size file rather than the grid thumbnail. Each page carries the board name at the top, and a board with sections gets the section name instead, so the paper keeps the order the board had. The sections to folders guide explains why sorting on Pinterest first pays off, and the same applies here.
What stays out: pin titles and links, so the page is only pictures. And video pins, because paper does not play video. Download those with a ZIP of the same board, where video pins come down as MP4.
A big board arrives as several PDFs, numbered, rather than one file too heavy to open or print.
Without Pro
On the free plan, Unpinned downloads 50 pins a day as a ZIP. You can make the PDF yourself from that folder.
On a Mac, select the images in Finder and open them in Preview. Select all the thumbnails in the sidebar, then File, Print, and Save as PDF. On Windows, select the images in File Explorer, right-click and choose Print, pick Microsoft Print to PDF as the printer, and choose a layout such as contact sheet.
It works. It is also slower, and sections do not get their own pages.
