Pin Toolbox is the most-installed Pinterest board downloader of the five we compared, around 40,000 Chrome users. It is also the most expensive at €14.99 a month, and the free version stops after the first 15 pins of a board. Unpinned is $7 a month in the US, 6€ elsewhere, with 50 free pins a day and Chrome, Firefox and Edge. We make Unpinned. The numbers below are theirs and ours, checked on 12 September 2026.

Pin Toolbox's free plan is the first 15 pins of a board. After that you pay. Call it a demo.
Unpinned's free plan is 50 pins every day, no board count. A 40-pin board is free today. A 200-pin board is four free days, or one Pro sitting.
If you want to try a tool on a real board before paying, 50 a day is a test. 15 pins is a screenshot.
Where Pin Toolbox is the better choice
PDF moodboards and printing. Pin Toolbox ships both. Unpinned does not. If you hand a client a printable document of a board, that is the reason to pay €14.99. Pin Kit also exports PDF, at $79 a year, if you want that feature without Pin Toolbox's monthly price.
Install count. Forty thousand users and 284 ratings is a real sample. Ours is not yet. 3.7 stars is the number, not a compliment.
Where Unpinned is the better choice
€14.99 a month is more than double Unpinned Pro in Europe and more than double the US $7. Both lift a cap on downloading boards. Pin Toolbox's extra money is for PDF and print.
Pin Toolbox is Chrome only. Unpinned has a Firefox listing and runs in Edge off the Chrome Web Store build.
Most personal moodboarding never hits 50 pins in a day. Pin Toolbox wants a card before a normal board is done.
A sorted board stays sorted in Unpinned's ZIP. Pin Toolbox's public copy does not say it does this.

No. Chrome only, per its site and store listing.
Is there a board size limit?
Unpinned's homepage says 5,000-pin boards work. The free plan pauses at 50 pins a day. Pro does not. Pin Toolbox does not publish a per-board cap. Its free plan stops at 15 pins.
Which should I install first?
